WANDERERS fans can enjoy Championship football in comfort this season — after new luxury recliner seats were installed at pitch side.

The football club has teamed up with the nearby Vue cinema to offer a cinematic matchday experience in the four new leather seats next to the home dugout at the Macron Stadium.

The partnership has been launched to celebrate a refurbishment at the Middlebrook cinema, during which every single standard seat has been replaced with a luxurious padded leather recliner.

The upgrade — which will not increase cinema ticket prices — means Bolton is only the fourth Vue venue in the UK, and the first in the North, to become a fully recliner site.

To mark the occasion, Vue invited Wanderers defenders Andrew Taylor and Mark Beevers to be the first to try out the new seats.

John Ashley, Bolton Wanderers’ commercial manager, said: “It’s a really exciting project and certainly offers our fans something different from the ordinary match-day experience. The new recliner seats are a fantastic addition to both the Macron and Vue Bolton and I’m sure they’re going to be received really well.

“The promotion will run throughout the whole 2017/18 season, starting with our Championship opener against Leeds and I’d advise fans to keep an eye out on our social media channels for their chance to enter the competition.”

The four seats at the Macron will be made available to fans for every home game of the 2017/18 season, with supporters being invited to enter social media competitions hosted on the club’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

Adam Wren, general manager of Vue Bolton, added: “By replacing every single seat with The Recliner, we are delighted to be able to bring all of our guests this supremely comfortable big screen viewing experience at no extra cost. We’d encourage everyone to come and experience The Recliner for themselves.”
