CHILDREN will be on the look out for wild and wonderful creatures at an event next weekend.
A wildlife art hunt for youngsters will be one of the fun activities taking place at Harpers Lane Allotment’s Summer Festival, on Sunday.
Among the creations waiting to be found are a giant Queen Bee, a giant friendly spider, two ‘hedgehog sculptures and ‘ants in their pants’ created with papier mache.
There will be a map given in the event programme in which children can tick off which animals they have seen and claim a small prize.
The allotments, in Church Road, near Moss Bank Park, will host the event between noon and 4pm.There will also be a range of other attractions including live music, stalls and a bouncy castle.
Ann Lodmore, of Harpers Lane Allotments Open Day Committee, said : “We are really looking forward to it hoping the weather will be kind because it will be so beautiful down there.
