The annual Bolton Hospice Bubble Rush event was celebrated yesterday with more than 1,350 people hitting Queens Park for the 5k sponsored fun run.

With the sun shining down, the park was filled with foam and colour as people ran, jumped, skipped and even pushed buggies around the track while getting sprayed with bubbles and colour.
Among them were Clare Hewson and her four-year-old son Marcus who were taking on the rush with her brother Alex Hewson, aged 28.
The 31-year-old from Ladybridge said: “We wanted to help raise money for Bolton Hospice because quite a few of our family members have gone to it.
“This is our first time and Marcus is really looking forward to it.
“We saw the build up and all the pictures last year so now he’s a bit older we thought let’s go for it.”
While the family donned tutus and colourful garlands, another trio went for something different.

Lorna Pickles and her son Harry from Bolton were joined by Dean Pritchard from Manchester for the event and went for a magically inventive costume.
Inspired by five-year-old Harry, they all dressed as Harry Potter wizards.
Ms Pickles added: “This our first time and we are really looking forward to it!
“We have raised £135 in sponsorship and of course it’s great fun too.”
Before the fun got underway, participants were warmed up by Bolton FM with music and dancing.
Thanks to the record numbers, the hospice estimates it has raised more than £50,350 from the day.
Marketing manager Felicity Ransom thanked everyone who took part. She added: “The day was brilliant and everyone seemed to have a really good time!”
