THE work of the the Friends of Longsight Park in improving the green space has been praised by a councillor.
Jane Wilcock, the group's secretary, gave a presentation at the recent meeting of the Bradshaw Area Forum.
She spoke about what the group has done since it formed in 2014, including tarmacking part of the Longsight Lane car park, putting in flowerbeds and litter bins and sorting out some of the paths.
A map of the park has also been installed and members also regularly check for litters.
The play park has also been repaired, making sure that all of the equipment is fit for purpose.
Cllr Stuart Haslam praised the work the group has done.
He said: "It is a real credit to the friends.
"The work the group has done is unbelievable."
Members have also worked to make the park more accessible to wheelchair users by improving some of the surfaces.
