AUDIENCES in Bolton can tumble down the rabbit hole with The Royal Ballet.

The town's big screens will be lit up by the sell-out story of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Christopher Wheeldon’s exciting production is being broadcast live in cinemas worldwide.

Featuring the original cast, the bright and bold adaptation of Lewis Caroll’s famous story hit screens on October 23 at 7.15pm.

The original cast return for the broadcast, showing at Bolton Cineworld, Vue and The Light cinemas, which includes British Principal Lauren Cuthbertson as Alice and former Principal Zenaida Yanowsky as the Queen of Hearts.

Premiered in 2011 with sold-out performances and the first full ballet created for the company since 1995, the reimagining of the much-loved story features quirky designs by Bob Crowley and theatrical effects, including projection and puppetry.

Crowley creates a mesmerising world of enchantment from the grinning Cheshire Cat to the sinuous Caterpillar with his 16 legs of ballet dancers en pointe.

Audiences follow Alice into Wonderland across a lake of tears, playing croquet with flamingos and attending a deranged tea party accompanied by Joby Talbot’s lively score.

will all be taking part in the broadcast.

The next production in the ROH Live Cinema Season is The Royal Ballet’s The Nutcracker on December 5 at 7.15pm.
