Anyone who was a teenager in the 1990s will remember shopping in the Stolen From Ivor clothing store, while many will recall the days before Woolworth’s made way for Wilko on the corner of Bridge Street.
One of the more sobering images we found in our archives shows Christmas shoppers in Bolton's Deansgate, shortly after two Provisional IRA bombs were detonated in Manchester city centre.
Coach trips originally bound for Manchester were diverted to Bolton that day, reflecting the region’s determination to keep calm and carry on.
