COUNCILLORS donned pink feather boas at a town hall meeting as part of a breast cancer awareness campaign.
More than £260 was raised to support life-saving research carried out by the charity Breast Cancer Now and in memory of the late Cllr Sufrana Bashir-Ismail.
Cllr Ismail, who represented the Crompton ward for nine years, died two years ago at the age of 47 following a battle with breast cancer.
Deputy council leader, Cllr Linda Thomas, said she was 'sadly missed by all'.
