PUPILS and staff are celebrating an outstanding report by Ofsted inspectors.
Rowan Tree Primary School in Atherton has been given the highest grade by the education watchdog.
The specialist school for two to 11-year-olds with severe and complex needs was previously rated good in 2014.
The school in Greenhall Close was rated outstanding in leadership and management; quality of teaching, learning and assessment; personal development, behaviour and wellbeing; and outcomes for pupils. Early years provision was rated good.
The school says its early years department is currently being developed.
