HUNDREDS turned out in Horwich at the weekend to officially welcome Christmas to the town with the annual lights switch-on.
The town mayor, Cllr Steve Rock and his wife, mayoress Lynn Rock led the service at The Crown roundabout as the displays around the town were lit up.
As well as Santa Claus, they were joined by Macron pantomime guests Aladdin and the Princess, played by Joe Maw and Holly-Robyn Harrison, as well as Bolton Wanderers mascot Lofty The Lion. Following the lighting there was a short carol service, including music from Horwich Brass Band.
