Bury soap stars Jennie McAlpine and Jamie Lomas experienced the real highs and lows of I'm a Celebrity tonight.

Coronation Street actress Jennie came crashing down in the fearsome Celebrity cyclone bushtucker trial before she became the latest to leave the camp.

Jamie pipped the actress to a place in tomorrow's grand final when Ant and Dec came down into camp to reveal that Jennie would be leaving after receiving the fewest votes from the public.

Leaving the Jungle she was welcomed into the studio with "a glass of fizz for Fizz".

Earlier the Bury pair joined fellow semi-finalists Georgia Toffolo and Ian Lee in the gruelling challenge.

Starting off on a turntable, Jennie was the first to face the rushing water, wind machine and paint throwing of the obstacle course.

Faced with flying objects and slippery grounds, she cried "I can’t do it" while attempting to get the first star ion its marker.

One by one each celebrity was tasked at reaching the next marker with a star.

Jamie was the last to go and only managed to get so far when a wall of water, balls and paint were released and everyone slid back to the beginning.

They all tried to get back to their star markers before time ran out and luckily made it before the klaxon sounded.

Things improved further for the stars later on, as for the first time in I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! history, the camp allowed the loved ones of the final four campmates into the Jungle.

Thinking they were taking part in a challenge, the celebrities were sent one by one to different parts of the Jungle.

Jennie stopped in her tracks when she stumbled across husband Chris and the pair embraced and kissed tearfully. Pulling her to him and kissing her, Chris said again: “I’m so, so proud of you.”

Making his way back into Croc Creek Jamie found, to his delight, his mum Helen.

After telling each other how much they missed each other Helen said: “You need to put some weight on. I’ve had a great time, Dennis was telling us how fantastic you are.”

Jamie said: "I’ve had the best time and made friends for life, I’ve done nothing but laugh."

Later on he added: "That was the most amazing thing to have happened but I’m just in shock, thinking what are you doing here?

"She said I was doing well and that’s spurred me on and will keep me going until it’s my turn to go."
