A ROAD near Bolton town centre has been reopened after it was cordoned off due to a man on a railway bridge.
Police have confirmed the incident has now been resolved and the man has not come to any harm.
Police cordoned off Weston Street on both sides of the bridge while they deal with the incident.
A man, dressed in a dark coat, T-shirt and tracksuit bottoms was perched on the edge of the bridge for about two hours.
He appeared to be aged in his early 20s.
Two police cars and a police van were in attendance.
Northern Rail cancelled the 11.38am service from Manchester Victoria to Blackburn as a result.
The 11.42 service from Blackburn to Manchester Victoria was also cancelled.
