BIKER Oliver Riley has powered his way to his first win in the Wirral 100 Formula 400 event on the island of Anglesey.
The 21-year-old from Westhoughton battled his way up from 20th on the grid in the first race to claim third place, where he started for the second race.
Riley had to contend with overheating tyres and front wheel "chatter" in a duel with experienced and highly-rated front man Alistair Bailey after passing second placed Tim Kermode.
Riley is still technically a novice having started the season late and ridden less than 10 races.
Now the young rider is looking for backing to get his career on to the next level.
He said: "I don't want to sound big headed, but I know I am good, and now I have beaten two very experienced men who have won a lot of races.
"A lot of the other riders are advising me that I should be getting to a more national lever, but to do that I need more help."
