LITTLE ones at a Bolton nursery donned creature costumes to raise money for the partner of a member of staff who was badly injured in a motorbike accident.
Louise Edwards’ boyfriend Marcus Tyrer lost the use of his legs after crashing with a car on Crompton Way, Tonge Moor, last August.
He was able to leave hospital just before Christmas but is now adapting to life in a wheelchair.
To raise money for special equipment he will need, including a standing frame, Louise organised a ‘dress up as animals’ fundraiser at Rainbow Nursery, in Heaton, where she works.
Children and staff at Louise’s place of work donned costumes and face paint and there were also raffles and a cake sale.
Louise said: “They all loved it and had a fun day my daughter talks about Marcus in nursery a lot and we have been talking about it for the past month and they knew they were selling cakes for him.”
