A NAUTICAL training and community service which operates on the canals and waterways around Bolton is looking for new volunteers.
The Maritime Volunteer Service, Port of Manchester provides training and nautical skills for all its members and also works for the benefit of the community.
Its members have varying skills and abilities from complete beginner to experienced instructors.
The service promises to train new volunteers and develop their personal skills - but stresses that those who sign up with have ‘lots of fun’.
As well as Bolton the charity is also operates all over Greater Manchester
Members also gets involved with local community events such as providing support boat cover and a control point for the annual Salford Duck Race at Salford Quays.
The group meets each Wednesday between 7pm and 9pm at its winter base at Eccles Gateway, Barton Lane.
Volunteers must be 18 or above.
