A COMMUNITY group is on the lookout for new members at it celebrates its 17th anniversary.
The Friends of Moss Bank Park was created to look after the park off Moss Bank Way, carrying out hours of weeding, planting and generally.
But now the group needs more volunteers to fill current vacancies left by retiring members.
Chairman Anne Cahill said: "Anyone is welcome to join us. We are a friendly bunch and I can guarantee a warm welcome to anyone interested in gardening. Anyone with experience of looking after water features would be particularly welcome.
"Since our earliest days we have regularly received words of encouragement from members of the public which are greatly appreciated but what we really need is more practical helpers.
"We would dearly love to see a Green Flag flying over Moss Bank Park again to signify that the park meets the required standards."
The group meets on Tuesday mornings from 10am to noon. For more information, email mary_hesketh@sky.com
