CHILDREN at St Peter and St Paul RC School in Pilkington Street and Heathfield Primary in Henniker Road cycled all the way to London from Bolton without leaving Sainsbury’s in Trinity Street!

The feat was all in aid of Sport Relief.

Trish Grogan, headteacher at SS Peter and Paul, said: “It was a privilege to be asked to go down to Sainsbury’s for the event.

“The children were absolutely brilliant. All of the children and the staff had a go on the bike. All the people who came into Sainsburys and the staff who work there were exceptionally kind.”

Kamal Hirani, teacher from Heathfield Primary School, said: "The children were really enthusiastic about the event and we linked it into World Book Day.

"In school, children have been clocking up miles by reading and cycling at the same time. At the event the children took part in the cycle from Sainsburys to London.

"They really enjoyed the experience and came back to the school understanding why the cause is so important."
