GIN Lovers have plenty to get excited about as a festival offering more than 120 varieties of the spirit prepares to come to town.

The Gin Society is returning to Bolton next month after the success of last year's event.

This year's festival will be held at the Town Hall and people are being urged to snap up their tickets now after last year's was a sell out.

There will be even more gins on offer and people will have more than 120 to try and some brand new guest drinks to sample.

The event is described as the perfect way to discover some exciting new tastes from around the region, the UK and abroad, including fashionable fruit gins.

A Gin Society festival aims to create a magical experience around the world of gin and offers people the chance to learn more about the drink as they enjoy it.

If gin isn't your thing though there is still plenty to enjoy, including Prosecco fizz and a small selection of other bespoke beverages.

Botanical Brewers Fentimans will supplying tonic waters for the event including their rose lemonade, pink grapefruit tonic and Mediterranean orange tonic.

There will be vintage music from resident DJ Dr Sid who will be playing speak easy sounds to add to the atmosphere of the event.

The event will also feature masterclasses from distillers who will be sharing their skills and new and unusual gins will be available at the Be Our Guest bar where visitors can enjoy learning about how the gin origin started and the history of the drink.

The event takes place from Friday, May 18 until Sunday, May 20.

There is an evening session on the Friday, an afternoon and evening on the Saturday and an afternoon on the Sunday.

Early bird tickets for each of the sessions are on sale now for £8.50 and entry includes a Gin Society goblet and a booklet of tasting notes.

All gins and tonics plus garnishes are priced at £5.
