A COMPANY is recalling Aunt Bessie’s Croquettes because the packs may also include potato balls which contain egg which is not mentioned on the label.

It is affecting the 550g packs with batch codes of D47 352 03:09 to D47 352 03:20 and best before dates of June 2019.

The product is only sold in Lidl and it poses a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

A statement on the Food Standards Agency website read: "This product may contain egg making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

"If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg, do not eat it. Instead return it to the Lidl store from where it was bought.

"The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to Lidl for display in stores."
