A DELEGATION from Heathrow Airport will visit Logistics North as part of a nationwide hunt for sites to help with its expansion.

The Over Hulton manufacturing and distribution site is one of 68 hubs that could become construction centres for a new runway. Heathrow representatives will visit the industrial park today, and later this year sites still in the running will go through a further selection process.

Gerry Brough, interim director of place at Bolton Council, said: “We believe Logistics North represents an ideal location for one of Heathrow’s Logistics Hubs and look forward to welcoming the delegation. Getting the Heathrow logistics hub would build on this success and bring even more jobs and benefits to people and businesses in our town. This is a great opportunity to be part of one the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects.”
