A CARE home in Bolton is changing hands after its parent company sold it on.

Mill View in Bridgeman Street was operated by Bupa but after a deal was struck in February and announced this week it is now being run by family-run Advinia Health Care.

The deal also sees Advinia take on another 21 care homes from Bupa, including five more in the north west. More than doubling the number it operated before.

Advinia has also taken on Burrswood House, Bury; Bedford, Leigh; Gorton Parks, Manchester and another two in Liverpool and Croxteth.

Advinia's CEO Len Merton, said: "I think the residents will see very little change other than for the better.

"Our strategy is to keep things simple and going as they are.

"We will make modest improvements as we see and require them.

"We are excited about the addition and we know we have a fantastic manager and staff we will be supporting them to continue to grow to look after residents with the highest quality and standards."

Mr Merton said Mill View had become part of the acquisition because it suited Advinia and already had a good reputation.

The home is currently rated requires improvement by the CQC, it is rated good in two of the assessed areas: care and effectiveness.

Dr Sanjeev Kanoria, chairman of Advinia Health Care, said: “We are interested in expansion for sure, but not for its own sake.

"Advinia Health Care is fundamentally about delivering a higher quality of service, as well as value for money.

"We want more families across the UK to benefit from our commitment to the individual needs of every resident.

"A well-run care home can make a difference to the lives of residents and loved ones alike. It has an important value in society."

The acquisition sees the company go from one care home in the north west to seven, with almost 1,000 more beds.

Advinia operates 38 care homes with 3,250 beds between them.
