BOLLYWOOD came to Bolton on Saturday when local people were given the opportunity to learn Indian-style dancing.
Bollywood Dance Society provided free taster sessions as part Bolton Hindu Forum’s work to extend its arts provision for the community.
Paras Agravat the project’s development officer, said: “The feedback was very positive. A lot of people who came along for the first time said they would be interested in joining the regular classes.”
Experienced instructors put the curious through their paces to soundtracks from such Bollywood blockbusters films as Dil Se and Padmaavat.
Mr Agravat said: “The thing about Bollywood dancing is that anyone can do it – we’ve even got four-year-olds in some of our beginners classes.”
More than 40 people attend the weekly classes, and although the focus is on developing abilities, each year a show is staged at The Octagon.
