A SIX-YEAR-OLD girl was rescued from a locked car after firefighters used a coat hanger and some sticky tape to get the keys from the back seat.
Firefighters were called to the Tesco car park in Middlebrook at 6pm on Saturday.
They arrived and found the child was trapped in a Volkswagen that had automatically locked with the keys inside.
Crew members threaded a straightened coat hanger, with sticky tape attached on the end, through a gap in the back window.
They managed to stick the keys to the coat hanger and ease them out of the window before unlocking the car and freeing the youngster.
