THE convenience of supermarkets has meant that most of us long ago gave up on knowing the provenance of the majority of the food we eat.
So, it was really pleasing to hear about Ainsworth farmer Stuart Alderson of Paddock Leach Farm who has cut out the middle man and the food miles by selling straight to the public via his local pub, The Duke William and the Waggon and Horses at Hawkshaw.
Diners there know that the meat they’re eating comes from just down the road. Good luck to this excellent move back to proven quality fresh food.
