LOCAL community groups had to “pitch” for cash towards their projects at a Pitch and Pitta event run by Bolton CVS.
The event, held at the Odessa Café in the town centre, brought together four local organisations which each explained about their group and how it would use the money.
People present voted and the biggest winner was Bolton LGBT+ which was awarded £300 for its activities. Other winners were Bolton Deaf Society on behalf of its Independence Deaf Youth Group, Bridge Youth and The Friends of Horwich Memory Café.
CVS chief executive Darren Knight said: “I’m so pleased that we’re developing our Pitch and Pitta events which enables people from across the borough to breathe life into their ideas to make a positive difference in their communities.”
He added: “I’m privileged to work with such a brilliant team who are continuing to make this happen.”
