DIVERSIONS are in place following a serious crash on the M65.
The motorway is shut eastbound between Junction 1 for the M6 and Junction 2 for the M61.
North West Motorway Police were in attendance at 9pm on Monday carrying out investigations.
Drivers are advised to follow the diversion, marked by a solid black triangle symbol, leaving the M65 eastbound at the Junction 1 interchange and following the link road northbound.
They will follow the M61/M65 spur road eastbound to rejoin the motorway at Junction 2.
