A MAN has been charged after an elderly man suffered serious injuries when he was attacked during a robbery.
Timothy Gelsthrope, aged 46, of The Croft, Westhoughton, has been charged with robbery and causing grievous bodily harm.
The victim, in his 70s, was attacked in Wesley Close, Westhoughton, shortly after 7am on June 17.
Officers found him with serious injuries and he was taken to hospital.
Gelsthrope was due to appear at Bolton Magistrates' Court today (Tuesday, June 26).
