The boy, aged 15, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with two counts of the sexual assault and a further charge of four counts of indecent exposure.
After being charged yesterday morning, the boy was sent to magistrates' court. He was then bailed to appear at Bolton Youth Court on Wednesday, August 29.
The charges relate to a series of six incidents reported to Greater Manchester Police between Thursday, May 24, and Friday, July 13.
Police thanked the public for their help in providing information on the incidents.
Officers had initially asked residents to remain vigilant after the reports were made and to pass on any information about the incidents.
