HORWICH residents are invited to shares their hopes for the future of their town tomorrow.

Horwich Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group has organised a Consultation Carousel Event to be held from 10am to 1pm at Horwich Heritage Centre in Beaumont Road.

Members of the group will explain how the Neighbourhood Plan will set out the vision and objectives of the Horwich community for the next 15 years.

Marie Brady, chair of the Steering Group said: “We want to hear from the people of Horwich to tell us what they think is important so that Horwich continues to be a vibrant, caring and attractive place to live, work and play. The event will have eight themes so that there will be plenty to comment on and space for everyone to have their say or to find out more about how to get involved."

Comments will be added to those collected at a similar event held in May.

After more consultation over the next few months a draft Neighbourhood Plan will be drawn up to set out the priorities for housing, transport, facilities and green space.

Ms Brady said: “The plan will be your plan, for a town with a proud heritage and a prosperous future to look forward to. It is a very democratic process, with an emphasis on consulting anyone who lives, works and plays in Horwich."

After the plan has been approved there will be a public vote for residents to decide if they want to accept it as the blueprint for the future.
