BOLTONIANS want a final vote on any Brexit deal, according to a survey carried out by the borough’s Liberal Democrat group.

Activists installed a ‘Brexitometer’ in Victoria Square to gather the views of residents and the results revealed that a sizeable majority — 80 per cent — wanted the option of a final say on Brexit.

Remain and Leave voters of all ages were canvassed for their opinions on issues relating to the UK’s withdrawal from the EU.

The survey also found that an overwhelming 97 per cent of respondents felt Brexit negotiations were going ‘badly or very badly’, while 21 per cent believed Donald Trump would give the UK a good post-Brexit trade deal.

Former councillor Frank Harasiwka said: “The vast majority of people who participated in the vote, both leave and remain supporters, are thoroughly fed up about how Brexit is being managed.

As Parliament seems incapable of coming to a settled view on the best option for the country, the respondents from across all age groups stated that they and not politicians should have the final say.”
