MEMBERS of Bolton Mountain Rescue were presented with a special cheque this week in recognition of all their work on the Winter Hill fire.
The donation of more than £1,300, made by the McColls Stores Community Support Programme, came after recommendations from the Over Hulton Community Group, which was asked to nominate suitable local organisations for funding.
The company runs a scheme whereby every time a purchase is made on one of a number of selected items, a donation is registered to the charity fund.
John Bullen, chair of the community group, said: "We are honoured to have been involved in presenting much needed money to two deserving local causes.
"The job that these lads and lasses do is magnificent but especially recently with the moorland fires on Winter Hill."
