1903: First experimental bus routes start to run in Bolton
1923: First permanent routes are established
1930s: Bolton Bus Station is opened to the public in the site on Moor Lane
1969: Old style bus station is replaced with new modern, open-sided, steel construction. The first driver-only routes begin operating, marking the beginning of the end for “clippies”
1970: The first women drivers start work
1975: Only one man registers for Transport Bolton’s conductor’s school
1997: First subsidised routes to the Reebok established
2017: Last bus leaves Bolton Bus Station, Moor Lane and the first one arrives at the new Bolton Interchange, Great Moor Street
2018: Demolition work starts
