IT was goodbye Macron Stadium and hello the University of Bolton Stadium today as the new signage was put in place at Wanderers' home.

After four years of calling it the former, supporters will arrive at the ground for tomorrow's match against Bristol City to be greeted by the stadium's new branding and name.

Pictures posted on Twitter today show the new banners, bearing the university's name, being hoisted on to the stadium.

The club revealed the sponsorship deal with the university last Wednesday, naming it as its new official "stadium naming rights partner".

The University of Bolton name replaces that of the Italian sportswear company, with which an sponsorship deal was struck in 2014 for an initial four years after the Whites' long association with sportswear giant Reebok, which has given the stadium its name since it was opened in 1997, came to an end.

And after the club's dramatic last day survival in May, supporters will be hopeful that the team can build on last week's victory over West Bromwich Albion and mark their first game under the new name with a win.
