A POKER player from Bolton who won more than £23,000 in a competition earlier this year has now won a £6,800 holiday.

Andy Wilson, aged 22, qualified for the EPT Barcelona after winning qualifying games on gambling site PokerStars.

Involvement in the tournament includes the holiday to Barcelona, from August 21 to September 2, and the £4,168 main event buy-in, accommodation and expenses.

Mr Wilson said: “It has been an aim of mine to play more live poker and attend more live stops and to visit more places, and the biggest EPT stop seemed like one of the first I had to try and get toward.

“I have been to Barcelona when I was young, but I’m looking forward to meeting up with friends I have made online and getting some last-minute summer sun.”

He will have the chance to win thousands in prize money, as well as a pass worth £23,000 to the PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship (PSPC), which will be awarded to the Main Event winner.

The pass includes £19,000 buy-in to the tournament in the Bahamas and six nights’ accommodation at the Atlantis Resort, Nassau.
