A COUPLE whose camera went missing from a kebab shop in the town centre say the police dropped the issue without investigating.

Michael Lightfoot and Nicola Casey were attending an Eye Licker gig at The Alma in Bradshawgate and decided to grab a takeaway before the gig on Tuesday, July 10.

They left the camera equipment, worth around £500, in a bag in the takeaway, The Spice Hut up the road but realised and ran back about two minutes later.

Mr Lightfoot says cameras in the street would show who took the bag but police have said they have no further lines of enquiry to pursue.

Mr Lightfoot, aged 49, from Salford said: "It's puzzling me why Bolton [police] won't do anything about it.

"We came up to film the bands that were on at The Alma, to promote Bolton and all we got was our equipment stolen and no response from the police."

Ms Casey's bag contained her Canon Legria video recorder and editing equipment.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were called on Friday, July 13 about a report of a theft in Bradshawgate.

They were told on the Tuesday, shortly before 8pm a woman left her rucksack containing camera equipment in a takeaway.

However, when she returned to pick it up it was not there and is believed to have been stolen.

A spokesman for the police said: "An investigation was launched and police conducted CCTV enquiries. There are no further lines of enquiry to pursue at this time."

A spokesman for the police force asked that anyone with information call the police on 101 or contact independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
