THE BARLOW Institute was transformed into a floral paradise on Saturday as contestants in the Edgworth Horticultural Show filled the building.
Keith Shatwell, chair of the Edgworth and District Horticultural Society, said: "I'm extremely pleased considering the weather conditions that we have had this year.We have had some beautiful blooms."
The winners on the day were: Ellis Lomax, Junior Floral Art, Junior Art and Craft and five and under Junior Gardening; Evan Wainwright, Junior Cookery; Luca Royle, Orla Brown, Zachary Ainscough, Junior Photography; Sophia Ainscough, 6-11 Junior Gardening; Isabelle Holden, 12-15 Junior Gardening; Hilary Revell, Novice Vegetables and Fruit; Lynn Jeffries, All other novice classes; Roseanne Walker, Open Vegetables and Fruit and Ladies' Open Cup; Chris Nightingale, Open Roses, Open Cut Flowers, Gentleman's Open Shield; Medwyn Owen, Open Dahlias; Jason McHugh, Open House or Container Plants; Irene Spencer, Open Floral Art; Lauren Eckersley, Open Cookery and Best Cookery Exhibition; Cecilia Nicholson, Open Art, Craft and Photography; Irene Pennington, Best Art Exhibit; Michael Cooper, Best Vegetable in Show; Paul Booth, Best Flower in Show; and Margaret Wilson, Best Craft.
