BUS passengers had to be evacuated from and a major road was closed last night after a five vehicle collision.
Nobody was injured in the incident at Manchester Road, Swinton, around 5pm last night.
The crash caused a heavy buildup of traffic creating problems for commuters leaving Bolton.
The road was closed between Irlam o' th' Heights and Worsley Road following the incident involving several cars and a double decker bus.
Motorists were being urged to avoid the area as there is a lot of standing traffic.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Police have responded to a collision on Manchester Road in Swinton involving a number of cars and a double decker bus.
"There are not believed to be any serious injuries but the road is blocked currently and there will be a significant amount of traffic disruption."
