THE University of Bolton will be the location for a free, construction open day for industry professionals interested in experiencing the latest innovations in construction and surveying equipment.

The all-day event on Thursday, September 13, will be hosted by M&P Survey Equipment and Leica Geosystems.

It will start at 9am and will feature seminars from industry experts throughout the day as well as giving attendees the opportunity to get some hands-on experience of the equipment on show.

From rotating lasers to machine control solutions, and from surveying equipment to the latest 3D laser scanners, there will be something for everyone to experience at this special event.

Christopher Woodhouse, construction and civil engineering specialist at M&P, said: “This event is all about giving construction professionals and businesses in the area the opportunity to come and experience the latest innovations in construction equipment and to see solutions that can help them improve their working day.

“People are busy, and it can be hard to keep abreast of all the technological advances these days, which is why we’re putting on this event so people can drop in and out throughout the day, see the bits they’re interested in and have a chance to ‘have-a-go’ themselves at their own pace.

“We’ve also invited industry-leading experts to give talks about their particular area of expertise and myself and the team will be on hand all day so if anyone has any questions or wants to know more about a certain instrument or way of working then they will be able to do so.

“It’s also going to be a lot of fun, so if it’s something that interests you, we would love to see you there.”
