PART of a care home in Breightmet as been described as ‘malodorous’ by the care watchdog.

The Care Quality Commission inspected Four Seasons and published its report last week.

The home in Breightmet Fold Lane was rated ‘good’ overall but the commission raised questions about its safety.

The home cares for 121 people and supports those who have been discharged from hospital and need rehabilitation. It is split into five homes named for the seasons, the report said: “The administration of medicines was safe and had improved in most of the houses with the exception of Winter House.

“Most of the houses were clean, tidy and fresh and the environment was maintained to a good standard. Winter House was malodorous and the décor required attention.”

Inspectors noted a good level of training for staff and said that residents had called the staff "kind and caring".

Leadership at the home was rated as 'good' and staff told inspectors they "felt well supported both by their colleagues and the managers".

A spokesperson for the home said: “The health and wellbeing of our residents is our top priority and we always act very quickly to respond to any feedback from the CQC.

"We are pleased to receive an overall good rating from the CQC and that reflects the kindness and professionalism that the team at the home show at all times."
