DOZENS of local restaurants have been named among the best in the country.
The official Good Food Guide was released yesterday - and while Bolton itself may have missed out, there is still plenty to choose from within a short distance of home, with 33 restaurants from across Greater Manchester featuring.

Among them are popular Ramsbottom eateries Levanter and Baratxuri, One Eighty Eight, in Whitefield, as well as an array of popular Manchester restaurants.
The top scoring restaurant was Adam Reid at The French in Manchester, which, coming in at 13 nationally, was the region’s only representative in the top 50.

Bury-born chef Mary-Ellen McTague has also made the Good Food Guide with her new restaurant The Creameries.
The Chorlton-based restaurant is joined by fellow new entries to the guide: 20 Stories, Manchester; Indique, Manchester; Mi & Pho, Manchester; and Bombay to Mumbai, in Stockport.
The Good Food Guide 2019, compiled by high street giant Waitrose and partners, ranks the top places to dine in the UK.
It is compiled by combining reader feedback on restaurants up and down the country with anonymous inspections by a team of industry experts.
