WOODHEY High School has received a life-saving donation from a local charity.

Peel Lions presented a defibrillator to the school, in Bolton Road West, to be situated in the reception of the school’s sports hall.

It will be accessible to community clubs who use Woodhey’s facilities in the evening and at weekends.

The school’s headteacher, Brian Roadnight, thanked the charity, and added: “Our pupils all learn basic first aid in PHSCE lessons and it is reassuring to know we now have two defibrillators in school.

“Members of the public who use our sports facilities will also feel reassured in the event of an emergency.”
