THE black comedy "Lloyd George Knew My Father" was staged by Bolton Little Theatre in October 1976.
It starred, picture from front, Clodagh Mc Guinn, Harold Hodgson, Jean Hamer, Sue Proffitt, and, pictured standing, Alan Hough and Derek Antrobus.
The play centres on an elderly and eccentric aristocratic couple who learn that a bypass is to be built through their property and the wife, Ladu Boothroyd declares her intention to take her own life in protest as soon as the bulldozers start.
As the hour strikes and the bulldozers' are heard the old General enters in regimental regalia, while his old ex army servant sounds the "Last Post".
A version of the play was shown on television in 1982.
