POLICE are hunting a gang of youths who spat on a mother and kicked a father who were travelling on a train with a baby.

British Transport Police have released images of boys they want to speak to in connection with the unprovoked attack on parents of a baby.

It took place on board a Northern Rail train between Appley Bridge and Wigan Wallgate, on the Bolton line.

It happened between 5.45pm and 6.10pm on Tuesday, May 29 when the father asked a group of youths to be careful as they had previously knocked his baby's pram.

An argument broke out and the youths threatened the family.

The boys then threw a bottle at the father, kicked him on his side after he fell to the floor and spat in the mother’s face.

Officers now want to talk to the boys picture in these CCTV images as they believe they may have information which could help the investigation.
