FIRE crews were called to tipper truck fire on the M65 this morning.
Firefighters from Blackburn, Darwen and another from Bamber Bridge were called to the blaze on the tipper truck at 9.30am between the westbound junctions four and three of the M65.
Watch manager Steve Hartley of Blackburn Fire Station, said: "The brakes had overheated on the truck and the driver had done a good job in pulling over onto the hard shoulder.
"When we arrived the tyre was on fire and it took us half an hour to put the fire out. The motorway was not closed and traffic was flowing as the fire was not blocking the road.
"We needed three engines as there was no water access on the motorway.
"There was no-one injured as the driver was out of the tipper truck at the time."
