Bubble Rush Run 5K - Queens Park, Bolton

The Bolton Hospice Bubble Rush Run is back! This family-friendly sponsored 5K is bouncing with bubbles and fun from start to finish. Entrants start in a sea of foam and get covered in coloured bubbles as canons pump coloured foam at four “bubble stations”, creating 4ft deep bubble baths along the route. The run is not timed so take your time, enjoy yourself and raise money for a fantastic cause. To sign up for the  run visit boltonhospice.org.uk online, standard registration is £20 for adults and £10 for children. Runners can arrive at Queens Park this Sunday from 10am with the actual run taking place at noon.

Wigan Casino’s 45th anniversary special - The King Georges Hall, Blackburn

Celebrate Northern Soul in style at Wigan Casino’s 45th anniversary special at The King Georges Hall in Blackburn. Dust off your dancing shoes for an all-night soul party this Saturday September 15. Some of the casinos original DJ’s will be back such as; John Vincent, Pep and Ian Wills. Joining them will be some of today’s most popular soul-scene DJ’s including; Daz Dakin, Jordan Wilson, Mick H, Tony Clarke & Barry Maleedy will be spinning all your favourite tunes. The doors will open from 10pm until 6am.

Head for the Hills music festival - Ramsbottom

GET your wellies packed and your glitter ready for the last festival of the season, right on Bolton’s doorstep. The fun starts on Friday afternoon and carries on right through until Sunday night with a closing performance by Irish legends The Boomtown Rats featuring Bob Geldof. Dozens more acts are lined up at Ramsbottom cricket ground over the weekend, tickets are available from www.headforthehills.org.uk/tickets/

Great Northern wedding show - Bolton Arena

If you are a bride to be then put this in your calendar, quick! This will be the North Wests biggest wedding exhibition and it is here for one day only. Over 120 wedding suppliers are waiting to wisp you away for your wonderful day. It’s even free when you pre-register! Bolton Arena are hosting the event on Sunday September 16 from 10am-4pm.

Bury 10K - Bury town centre

RUNNERS are set to take to the streets of Bury for an annual charity road race this weekend. The Asda Foundation Bury 10K will return on Sunday and thousands are expected to take part, raising tens of thousands of pounds for good causes. The race is also being organised in partnership with I Will If You Will, IWIYW, a fitness movement in Bury, which aims to help women, girls and their families to be more active, more often. IWIYW is delivered by Bury Council with National Lottery funding form Sport England
