WANDERERS have been fined £8,000 for their involvement in the pitch fracas after the 2-2 draw at Preston North End.
The club has been punished for failing to control its players after ugly scenes at the final whistle in a heated Lancastrian derby at Deepdale.
Preston landed a £12,500 fine on account of their poor disciplinary record over the past two seasons.
North End’s Ben Pearson was sent-off for aiming a headbutt at Wanderers’ midfielder Joe Williams and received a three-match ban.
The FA’s official spokesperson account confirmed this afternoon: “Preston North End & Bolton Wanderers have been fined £12,500 and £8,000 respectively after admitting an FA charge of failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative and/or violent behaviour during their game on 01/09/18.”
