MAGISTRATES have fined a man £200 after he was repeatedly caught begging outside the HSBC Bank in Victoria Square, Bolton.

David Watters, aged 53, of Nottingham Drive, Halliwell, pleaded guilty to committing the offences on July 20, 26 and August 14.

A BENEFIT cheat has been ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.

At Bolton Magistrates' Court Tina Baggaley, aged 41, of Chorley New Road, Bolton, pleaded guilty to failing to inform Bolton Council that she was living with James Bye and so wrongly claimed housing benefit.

Baggaley was also ordered to pay £170 in costs and charges.

A PENSIONER has been fined £130 after he admitted driving without care and attention.

Bolton magistrates heard how James Sherrington, aged 76, of Tonge Fold Road, Bolton, committed the offence while driving a Vauxhall Zafira on Bury Road, Bolton, on May 16.

Four penalty points were added to his licence and he was also ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A BMW driver has been banned from the roads for 18 months after he was caught drink driving.

Stewart Donaldson, aged 33, of Hough Fold Way, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on Crompton Way on August 18.

Bolton magistrates also fined him £500 and ordered him to pay £135 in costs and charges.

A PENSIONER has been fined £40 by Bolton magistrates for driving without care and attention.

James Varey, aged 74, of Furness Square, pleaded guilty to committing the offence in a Ford Fiesta on Chorley New Road, Bolton, on February 2.

He had three points added to his driving licence and must also pay £115 in costs and charges.

A MAN who damaged a glass door panel belonging to Bolton at Home has been fined by Bolton magistrates.

Conor Mason, aged 20, of Howcroft Close, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on April 22.

He was also ordered to pay £114.58 in compensation plus a £30 victim surcharge.

A VAN driver has been banned from the roads for 15 months after he pleaded guilty to drink driving.

Bolton magistrates heard how Edward Fearn, aged 28, of Manchester Road, Kearsley, committed the offence in a Vauxhall Vivaro van on Bury Road, Bolton, on August 26.

MAGISTRATES have banned a man from driving for 16 months.

At Bolton Magistrates' Court Steven Payne, aged 48, of Bradford Street, Bolton, admitted driving a BMW on Moss Bank Road, Bolton, on August 17 having drunk twice the legal alcohol limit.

He also pleaded guilty to having no insurance.

He was fined a total of £220 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A DRINK driver has been banned from the roads for 17 months by Bolton magistrates.

Naimi Davies, aged 22, of Stitch-mi-Lane, Harwood, admitted driving a Vauxhall Corsa in McDonald's car park on August 25 while over the legal alcohol limit.

Davies was also fined £300 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A MAN has been fined £80 after he pleaded guilty to damaging a window at the Royal Bolton Hospital on February 10.

Stuart Wynne, aged 30, of Firwood Grove, Tonge Moor, was also ordered to pay £150 in compensation plus £115 in costs and charges by Bolton magistrates.

A MOTORIST who used a false number plate and drove a Renault Clio without a licence, insurance and MoT certificate has been fined by Bolton magistrates.

Robert Warnes, aged 57, of Camrose Gardens, Bolton, pleased guilty to hoving committed the offences on Kay Street, Bolton, on August 5.

The court hear that Warnes is a repeat offender and banned him from applying for a driving licence for nine months.

At Bolton Magistrates' Court Evelena Larsen, aged 44, of Gregson Field, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence whilst driving a Vauxhall Vectra in Bradford Street, Bolton, on May 7.

She was also fined £120 and ordered to pay £70 in costs and charges.

A MAN has been banned from holding a licence for 12 months after he was caught driving after taking cannabis.

At Bolton Magistrates' Court Ahmed Hassan, aged 27, of Parkhills Road, Bury, pleaded guilty to committing the offence whilst driving a Vauxhall Corsa on May 24.

A BANNED driver who was caught behind the wheel of a car after taking cocaine has been ordered to do 120 hours unpaid work.

Bolton magistrates heard how John Scannell, aged 37, of Olivant Street, Bury, was disqualified from holding a licence when he drove an Audi A3 on Ainsworth Lane, Bolton, on May 24.

Scannell admitted committing the offence, having no insurance and having illegal levels of drugs in his system.

In addition to the unpaid work, Scannell was ordered to have treatment for drug addiction for three months, participate in 10 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £170 in costs and charges.

A MAN has been fined £500 after he failed to obey a council notice ordering him to dismantle and remove a raised platform from his land.

Charles Holding, aged 62, of Havisham Close, Lostock, had denied committing the offence but was found guilty after a trial.

Bolton Council issued the enforcement order on June 7 last year because Holding did not have planning permission for the structure, but the court heard that he breached the order by failing to remove the platform between August 7 and October 25.

In addition to the fine, Holding was ordered to pay a total of £963 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to a conditional discharge for 18 months after he pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour on August 17.

Joshua Tunnah, aged 20, of Worston Avenue, Bolton, was also ordered to pay £105 in costs and charges.

A SHOPLIFTER has been jailed for 23 weeks after admitting a series of thefts from a One Stop Shop in Bolton between May 28 and June 11.

At Bolton Magistrates' Court Joss McCaughtrie, aged 25, of Lobelia Avenue, Farnworth, pleaded guilty to stealing three blocks of cheese, a pack of sausages, 15 cans of deodorant and chocolate.

Magistrates heard that McCaughtrie, who has a record of previous offending, carried out the thefts whilst subject to a suspended sentence order and has shown a "flagrant disregard" for court orders.

He was ordered to pay compensation of £64.50.

A MAN has been bound over to keep the peace for three months or forfeit £50.

At Bolton Magistrates' Court Tony Bateman, aged 33, admitted behaviour which caused a breach of the peace on September 3.

A DRIVER who failed to stop after hitting two cars and fencing has been fined by Bolton magistrates.

Jack White, aged 64, of Pennington Road, Bolton, admitted the offence and driving without due care and attention.

White was driving a Skoda Yeti on June 9 he hit a Ford Mondeo, Vauxhall Corsa and fencing on Laburnum Road, Farnworth.

He was fined £471 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A TEENAGER has been fined by Bolton magistrates after admitting driving a Toyota Prius without due care and attention and without a licence or insurance.

The court heard how Zahid Ishaq, aged 19, of Blackburn Road, Bolton, was caught driving the vehicle on Bury Road, Bolton, on June 29.

He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.
