A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man found dead in a flat in Great Lever.

David Hesketh, aged 47, of no fixed address, has been charged with the murder of John Baxendale in Aldersyde Street, Great Lever. He appeared at Bolton Magistrates' Court this morning. 

Police launched a murder investigation after they were called by the ambulance service to Aldersyde Street shortly after 7.35pm on Friday evening.

The body of a man - believed to be in his 30s - was discovered at the scene.

He had suffered multiple injuries.

A woman was also found injured at the property and was taken to hospital for treatment.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester Crown Court on Wednesday.
