A DRIVER who led police on a chase down a town centre street tested positive for a banned drug.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 18, when a silver Peugeot fled from officers on Deane Road.
Police motorway patrols then caught up with the driver on Gibbon Street, just off Derby Street, where the vehicle was stopped.
The driver was then put through a roadside drugs test which showed positive for cannabis, before being found to have no licence or insurance.
Police arrested the person and seized the vehicle.
