DIY SOS have finished their work to transform a family home in Little Level.

The BBC programme enlisted the help of local businesses to give nine-year-old William Taylor-Mann's home an autism-friendly makeover.

William has severe autism and cannot be left alone because he does not appreciate danger.

The DIY SOS team worked all this week to complete the home transformation for William and his family, including mum and dad Heather and Martin.

Bury-based Bathroom Takeaway volunteered their time and donated two bathroom suites to the good cause.

Mark Harding, manager, said: "We were delighted to donate two bathroom suites to DIY SOS here in Bolton and it was also great to get out of the office build some furniture ready for the big reveal.

"It was fantastic to see how businesses and the local community came together to transform a local family's life and I'm proud to have been a part of it."

Hungry workers were kept fed thanks to Poundbakery, based in Sidney Street, Bolton, whose staff dropped by with cakes and pasties.

Keely Palin, marketing manager for the bakery said: "We were delighted to support DIY SOS here in Bolton and feed the hundreds of local volunteers who worked so hard to get the house ready in time.

"We wish the family all the best and are glad they all enjoyed the pasties and cakes."
