AUTHORITIES have agreed to extend train delay compensation to all passengers, not just those with season tickets.
After a difficult Summer for travellers, Northern bosses agreed to reimburse those who were delayed waiting for a train for more than 15 minutes.
However, Transport for the North, a public-sector group which works to improve services, has advised the train firm to extend its policy again to include non-season ticket passengers.
Anyone with evidence that they travelled for three or more days a week in April, May or June on selected routes will be able to claim compensation from Tuesday, October 9. The routes include travel between Bolton and Manchester, Preston and Blackburn.
The scheme will be open for an eight-week period, and other reimbursement programmes have also been extended so that season ticket holders can claim until early December.
Further details on the scheme can be found here: www.northernrailway.co.uk/additional-compensation-scheme-extended.
